Deborah Burge is a visual artist working in many mediums. Her paintings are figurative large-scale oil and acrylic and she sculpts in everything from found objects to the finest marble and alabaster.
Deborah manages to lace barbed-wire into and through as many works as possible. This stylistic medium has become her signature, heralding her roots in Texas.
She is renowned for the little barbed-wire and broken glass bra sculptures, several of which are in the collections of celebrities and performers. To read her current artist' statement, click here.
Visitors are always welcome (e-mail the studio for an appointment). For a small day fee you can plan a working studio visit to participate in group painting and sculpture lessons. Individual instruction and artistic consultation available upon request.

Those close to the artist know that one of her most important activities each year is finding the right charitable event or organization to work with in her ongoing commitment to helping wipe out the devastating effects of cancer through donating art and percentages of sales from Brat© merchandise.
This year DBS is honored to be chosen to participate in Art for The Bridge at the Women's Museum in Dallas Texas. This is a great event for a wonderful cause please go to the Art for The Bridge web site and check it out, and even better contribute... Thank you!

Mohonk Resort Heiress added to the DBS team!
We are proud to announce the addition of Nicole Smiley ("my very own heiressParis" as Deb likes to tease Nic), of the NY MohonkMountain Resort Smiley family, to the DBS team. She will specialize as our sales liason in NY, CA, anywhere else she fancies, as well as with important collectors world-wide. Nothing beats having a "Smiley" on the team to make our art world brighter and turn any frowns upside down!
Now the studio is near the beach!
Deborah Burge Studio has relocated to both a larger space AND a more beautiful location nearer to the coast. The Montana De Oro state park is just a whisper away, along with the Estuary, and Morro Rock (a frequent landmark in Burge's newest paintings) is in view, if you stand on the studio roof. The new studio and location are wonderful and are inspiring a whole new series of Burge paintings and sculpture. For a visit to the studio or to contact Burge Contact the studio.

FINALLY site changes?
Yes finally, watch for new content and new art works! Good news for fans of this "cob web" of a web site... Web updates are finally moving to the front burner. As soon as new photos of works in progress are available these will be uploaded. There is a new "brat sculpture" in the hands of a persistant collector who commissioned the first "jock" in the collection. Jocks are brats too he insisted! Yes we agree. Check out: Do Tell Don't Ask ©2006
And new paintings both completed and in progress will be uploaded soon!
Studio shipping service providers:
ALL SHIPPING FROM Deborah Burge Studio to patrons and friends is through FedEx or USPS Thanks for your patronage. We LOVE Fed X and USPS! To date Fed X has done a superior job in the handling and delivery of fragile sculpture and painting to our patrons all over the country. After several "brown mishaps" we switched permanently to Fed X and USPS with excellent results and many satisfied clients. Fed X in particular just seems to take more pride and care in the handling of fragile art packages than our previous shipping provider.
Retriever Payment Systems preferred!
For Merchant Services and credit card processing we proudly endorse RPI.
As a comparative study on customer service for credit card processing, I highly recommend the excellent and personalized services of Retriever -America's Payment Systems Authority. DB studio's Retriever rep Betty Naeini has provided such good customer service that I would recommend RPSI to any merchant, small or large.
WE HATE SPAM, don't you?
Yes everyone hates spam and because of the volume of junk mail received by all members of Deborah Burge Studio, we have eliminated e-mail addressing appearing on the site and developed a filter to insure that only real live people get to email us. For a visit or to contact Burge Contact the studio.
